LSU vs Missouri Game Preview

Why LSU Will Win

The offense put up a whole lot of numbers and did a whole bunch of positive things. Okay, so the LSU defense tackled like it was making a giant collective business decision, but QB Jayden Daniels and the O that rolled up 637 yards and 49 points - which really should’ve been enough in the loss in Oxford - continued to be unstoppable. LSU has the SEC best offense, best passing game, and cranked up more first downs so far than anyone in college football - and Missouri has to prove it can keep up with it. The Mizzou offense has been fine. It’s actually been great, but for all the yards and all the big things with the passing attack, it has to get off the bus with at least 40 points along for the ride or this won’t work. It has yet to score more than 38, however …


Why Missouri Will Win

Oh yeah, the LSU defense. That again. It’s the strangest thing. This team has so much talent, so many NFL starters, and so much upside and potential, and yet it went totally in the tank in the second half of the win over Florida State, couldn’t handle the Arkansas passing game, and made Ole Miss offensive players look like they were covered in bacon grease. And about that Missouri offense which was slightly disparaged in the LSU position of the program - it deserves more credit for being terrific. QB Brady Cook has been wonderful - 75%, 11 touchdowns, no picks - Luther Burden has been every bit the superstar receiver the program hoped it was getting, and it’s not making big mistakes to give the other side easy chances. There’s one great, big, giant problem, though …
