Louisiana men's basketball team is set to make a comeback to March Madness after seven years, as they enter the 2023 NCAA Tournament as the 13th seed in the East Region. The team, also known as the Ragin' Cajuns, will face off against the fourth-seeded Tennessee team in the first round at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday at 8:40 p.m. on CBS.
The team's star player, Jordan Brown, the preseason player of the year, has been instrumental in leading the team to this point. Brown, a junior forward, has maintained an average of 19.4 points per game, accompanied by 8.7 rebounds, making him a top-performing player.
Although the Cajuns lost both non-conference games played against teams that made it to the NCAA tournament, including the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament winner, Drake, they delivered on their preseason prognostication, finishing second in the conference, with Southern Miss finishing first during the regular season. The team went on to earn the Sun Belt's automatic bid by winning the conference tournament, with a victory over South Alabama, 71-66, last week.
