Tuesday Morning announced Saturday that all of its stores will be closing. The Dallas-based franchise discount store is going out of business.
Tuesday Morning made a post on Facebook that read, "Thank you for 49 years of loyalty and support."
In 1974, Tuesday Morning began after founder Lloyd Ross had the idea to sell leftover big brand inventory. Ross hosted a large garage sale in a warehouse in Dallas, Texas on a Tuesday morning.
The sale proved to be successful, and the company grew, eventually opening nearly 500 stores across the United States.
What happened to Tuesday Morning?
Before the company's announcement, it had closed more than 250 stores following filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to Dallas Morning News, Hilco Merchant Resources bought the chain out of bankruptcy in late April for more than $32 million.
The company is having a going-out-of-business sale with all stores offering 30% off the lowest ticketed price.
