WATCH: LA Golfer Tees Off @ Augusta National

Sam Burns, a professional golfer from Louisiana, is set to participate in the 2023 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, with odds of +4500 to win. Burns' recent form has been impressive, having finished below par five times over his last five tournaments, including a sixth-place performance at the Valspar Championship in March 2023.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Burns attended Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport before moving on to play college golf at Louisiana State University (LSU). During his time at LSU, Burns was a three-time All-American and won four tournaments. He was also a member of the 2017 U.S. Walker Cup team.


After turning pro in 2017, Burns played on the Web.com Tour and the PGA Tour Latinoamerica before earning his PGA Tour card in 2018. Since then, he has recorded multiple top-10 finishes and secured his first PGA Tour win at the 2021 Valspar Championship.


In his most recent outings, Burns has demonstrated consistent form and solid scoring, finishing five rounds below par and completing one round without a bogey. He has also recorded one of the top five scores in two of his last 12 rounds and finished within three strokes of the best score of the round three times.
